We have exciting news to share today—Liferay has acquired controlling interest in Triblio and committed to an ongoing strategic investment in our company. Triblio will continue to operate as an independent entity in the market, and I will continue to serve as Triblio’s CEO. The entire Triblio leadership team remains intact and ready to take on this next phase of growth. You can read the press announcement here, but I wanted to give you my perspective on why this is good news for Triblio customers and for the emerging ABM market.
We started Triblio to build the next generation B2B marketing platform. After three years in the ABM market, we have over 100 customers, ranging from fast-growing SMBs to global enterprises…and we love every one of them. We built this company on making customers successful, and we count it a distinct privilege to serve our customers by helping them grow revenue through the use of Triblio’s platform.
We also started Triblio to create a positive company culture where every employee is valued and celebrated. Seeking to create a joyful and flourishing experience for employees and partners remains part of our core mission together.
Both these guiding objectives were in view when we pursued financing partners earlier this year. Thanks to our award-winning product platform and record-breaking quarter in Q4, 2017, we found ourselves in the enviable position of receiving financing offers from multiple sources. Ultimately, we chose to partner with Liferay—a fast growing, profitable company with approximately 900 employees and 22 offices worldwide—because of our shared commitment to customer success and positive corporate culture.
We also believed that Liferay’s global reach and financial stability will better position us for growth in the future. This strategic financial investment from Liferay will enable us to focus on growing Triblio without the distractions of pursuing venture financing. It will also allow us to expand core areas of our business—in particular, in the areas of customer success and product development.
Customer success has and always will be the cornerstone of Triblio’s business. Recently, Jeff Wilson, Chief Revenue Officer of Profisee, shared a humbling anecdote on how our customer-centric approach has made a difference in his team’s success. “Triblio has a great ABM product, but what sets you apart is that you’re committed to our success and highly responsive to our needs.” We live to serve customers in this way. As a result of this investment from Liferay, we can double down on this advantage. In this past quarter, we’ve grown our customer success team by 50% and significantly improved our client-to-CSM ratio.
We are also in the midst of expanding our product development team in a similar way. Mostly because of my technology background, I’ve spent my entire life innovating. Together, with our CTO Mike Ball, we are charting and executing on a roadmap that will change the perception of what’s possible in B2B marketing. Liferay’s strategic investment will enable us to execute on this roadmap more quickly, and we plan to share more details on this as we enter 2019.
Partnering with Liferay will also extend our ability to reach into international markets sooner and better support our global customers. Their experience in international markets together with their presence in 18 countries worldwide lends immediate positive impact to our 2019 objective of reaching and serving global enterprises.
